I am a career horticultural professional who moved into the Cannabis industry in 2016. Identifying a clear industry gap in Australian Cannabis production I relocated to Canada in 2017 to gain experience in medical and later recreational Cannabis markets. The production experience from industry leaders such as Tantalus Labs and Aurora's West coast science operations gave me a clear view of the future of production in this nascent market.I returned to Australia in 2020 where I consulted in the Cannabis industry with new market entrants. Since mid 2021 I have been Cultivation Manager of Cann Group's state of the art semi-closed greenhouse project in Mildura, Australia. The building of a greenfield cultivation team of 40+ people, commissioning a large commercial glasshouse facility and delivering an operational production facility has been a career highlight. The facility 6,400m2 of semi-closed glasshouse and ~4,300m2 of plant canopy. My role encompasses crop scheduling, financial management, procedure and people management. In addition, climate, irrigation, IPDM scheduling, new cultivar development and agronomy are all role specific responsibilities.
