I am a career horticultural professional who entered the cannabis industry in 2016. Recognising a gap in Australian cannabis production, I relocated to Canada in 2017 to gain hands-on experience across from medical and later recreational markets.Working with leading producers such as Tantalus Labs and Aurora’s west coast science division gave me a clear perspective on scalable, compliant, and high-quality cannabis cultivation in this rapidly evolving industry. After returning to Australia in 2020, I consulted with new market entrants before stepping into the role of Cultivation Manager at Cann Group’s semi-closed glasshouse facility in Mildura, Victoria. From 2021 to 2025, I led the greenfield build-out of a 6,400m² cultivation and manufacturing facility (including ~4,300m² of canopy), scaling a 50+ person cultivation team and overseeing the commissioning and operation of one of Australia’s most advanced cannabis production sites.Today, I serve as Cultivation Manager at Golden Days Cultivators in Adelaide, South Australia, where I oversee the production of premium small-batch craft cannabis. This one of a kind role is broadening my experience across quality-driven cultivation models, further refining my leadership, operational, and agronomic skillset. My core career responsibilities have included crop and production scheduling, financial and resource management, SOP development, team leadership, climate and irrigation strategy, IPDM and new cultivar development. Across all projects, I remain committed to data-driven decision-making, continuous improvement, and delivering high-quality medicinal cannabis to patients.

Education and Extension

I am currently studying a Masters of Agricultural Science at The University of Melbourne due for completion in 2024. I hold a Graduate Certificate in Agricultural Science majoring in crop production. My undergraduate education includes an Associate Degree of Horticulture from The University of Melbourne's Burnley Horticultural campus. My horticultural journey began in local government with an apprenticeship and subsequent horticulture diploma. This early career experience awarded professional experience in landscape management, botanical garden administration, organisational systems thinking, occupational health and safety, risk assessment and big data collection in urban forestry. In 2023, I completed a Diploma of Competitive Systems and Practices enhancing my operational management and lean manufacturing skillset.I am a proud contributor to Protected Cropping Australia's Industry Advisory Council (IAC) for medicinal cannabis growers and sit on the steering committee for Australian Cannabis Cultivators (ACC) a new industry body for cultivation professionals in Australia /New Zealand.
